Following a thrilling victory in the season opener, the East Paulding Raiders faced a setback in the second half of Saturday’s doubleheader, falling 17-4 to the Milton Eagles. Despite the tough outcome, splitting the afternoon against a strong non-region opponent gives the Girls in Red and Black plenty of valuable experience to build on early in the season.

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, putting the Raiders’ defense on their heels. While East Paulding fought hard to mount a comeback and pushed four runs across the plate, Milton’s bats remained hot throughout the contest to seal the win. The split leaves the Raiders with a 1-1 record as they look ahead to their upcoming schedule.

Region Play Begins Tuesday Against New Manchester

The Raiders will quickly turn their focus to the games that matter most. East Paulding opens 6A Region 5 play on Tuesday, August 12, when they battle the New Manchester Jaguars in Douglasville. It is a fresh opportunity for the squad to establish themselves in the region standings and keep pushing forward!
